We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Union County Rural Health Clinic. This role supports patient care, clinic operations, and a positive experience for every patient and family we serve.

What You Will Do

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors, and healthcare team members.
  • Assist with clinic operations including scheduling support, referrals, medical records, communication, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist patients with questions while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Coordinate referrals by scheduling appointments, following up on completion, and ensuring documentation is received according to organizational standards.
  • Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies, and ensure equipment is available and ready for patient care.
  • Obtain and document patient information including vital signs, medical history, medication lists, and other clinical data.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and patient care activities within scope of practice.
  • Collect specimens, perform testing as assigned, and document results appropriately.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatments, medications, procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Support quality initiatives, patient satisfaction efforts, and a culture of safety.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Travel to other medical offices when needed to support staffing needs.

Qualifications

Medical Assistant (MOA)

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:

  • One year of healthcare or medical office experience

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Required:

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program
  • Current Illinois LPN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire

Preferred:

  • One year of clinical nursing experience (new graduates may be considered)

Registered Nurse (RN)

Required:

  • Associate Degree from an accredited nursing program
  • Current Illinois RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire

Preferred:

  • One year of professional clinical nursing experience
