Job Title: Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

Reports to: Practice Administrator

Overview:

Under the direction of a supervising physician, the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner provides high quality, efficient, team-based patient focused care. This individuals' responsibilities include managing patients in the office and may also facilitate on call duties for his/her supervising physician. Actual daily tasks may vary based upon the department & supervising physician needs and may require evening or weekend work hours.

• Performs comprehensive physical examinations, compiles patient medical data, and reports deviations from normal exam findings to supervising physician.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as imaging studies and laboratory tests. Interprets test results for deviations from normal.
• Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections.
• Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in continuity of care.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance of other relevant patient education.
• Orders interventional procedures and provides patient with pre-procedure instructions and education, including recovery path and risk factors.

Minimum Position Requirements:

• Must have successfully passed the PA national certifying exam (PANCE).
• National certification as a nurse practitioner.
• Oregon Medical Board License by date of hire.
• ACLS certification required.
