The Family Health Services Clinics of the Health and Social Services Department is currently recruiting for a Clinic Registered Nurse Senior.
The mission of Family Health Services (FHS) is to provide high-quality, comprehensive, accessible medical and dental care to support Solano County's diverse community to live, learn and work with thriving health. We have a special commitment to the uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we are a safety net provider. To support our mission, FHS offers four conveniently located clinics in Fairfield, Vacaville, and Vallejo and mobile medical and dental vans in which we provide primary care and dental services. The outpatient primary care clinics see patients five days a week, with some weekend and evening hours offered.

THE POSITION
The Clinic Registered Nurse Senior is a journey level, professional nursing classification. This class is characterized by the responsibility to coordinate the operational activities of public health clinics; provides nursing services in a clinical environment and provides general administrative support to clinic operations; and/or assists in providing oversight, consultation, education, evaluation, and quality improvement assessment of trauma care.
Note: The Clinic Registered Nurse Senior supervises employees, such as, lower level medical personnel, peer counselors, clerical staff, and student interns.
The eligible list created as a result of this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur throughout the County.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Experience: Three years of clinical nursing experience which included some responsibility for clinic operations and activities and overseeing the work of others.
AND
Education/Training: Associate's degree in Nursing or higher from an accredited college with a major in nursing or a nursing diploma from an accredited nursing program.

An Associate's degree in Nursing or higher from an accredited college with a major in nursing or a nursing diploma from an accredited nursing program AND a Registered Nursing license issued by the California State Board of Registered Nursing are required for this position. All candidates must submit a copy of their college diploma (verifying the degree, date earned and area of specialization) or official/unofficial transcripts (verifying the date and degree conferred) AND proof of their current license issued by the California State Board of Registered Nursing by the application review deadline date. Candidates who fail to submit their diploma or transcripts AND proof of licensure by the application review deadline date will be disqualified from the recruitment.

VETERANS PREFERENCE POINTS
To be eligible, applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions. A COPY OF THE DD 214, SHOWING DISCHARGE TYPE (GENERALLY COPY 4), MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT BY THE FINAL FILING DATE.
