Job Overview
As a Phone Nurse in our Internal Medicine clinic, youll play a vital role in supporting patients and the care team by serving as a trusted resource for triage, patient questions, and care coordination.
In this fast-paced role, youll manage patient requests received through phone calls and MyChart messages, provide clinical triage, coordinate care, and help patients navigate their healthcare needs. You will ensure patients receive timely responses, guidance, and follow-up care. Youll also assist with nurse-only visits and other patient care needs, helping the clinic operate efficiently while maintaining an exceptional patient experience.
The Phone Nurse is an essential part of the clinic team, providing direct and indirect patient care while collaborating closely with providers, clinical staff, and patients. Strong communication skills, clinical judgment, and a passion for helping others are key to success in this role
Education and Experience
Graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or graduation from an accredited nursing program required.
Experience preferred but not required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current certification/license from one of the below:
Certified Medical Assistant- American Association of Medical Assistants
Registered Medical Assistant- American Medical Technologist
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant- National Health career Association
National Certified Medical Assistant- National Center for Competency Testing
Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant- National Association for Health Professionals
Registered Medical Assistant- American Allied Health
Certified Medical Assistant Clinical- American Medical Certification Association
Active LPN license in state of employment
Active RN license in state of employment
CPR provider certification required.
Pay Scales:
CMA/RMA: $19.14 to $26.79
Clinic LPN: $22.32 to $31.25
Clinic RN: $26.04 to $36.45
