Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The School of Education oversees the university's

educator preparation program (EPP). The EPP is

multifaceted and provides many services and

programming in the area of teacher education. The

overarching goal of the School of Education is to prepare

students for careers in education.

Primary Purpose of Position

The primary purpose of the Clinical Faculty position is to

provide comprehensive academic leadership, curriculum

development, and programmatic oversight for the

Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) program. This

role is centered on the design, implementation, and

evaluation of inclusive academic and experiential

learning opportunities specifically tailored for students

with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). By

anchoring the program in evidence-based practice,

academic integrity, and sustainable structures, the

Clinical Faculty member ensures that the curriculum

aligns with established inclusive postsecondary

education standards, institutional priorities, and state

goals. Additionally, the position facilitates collaboration

among university faculty, staff, families, and community

partners to drive student success and high-quality

instruction, which includes teaching coursework as

required by the academic unit.

This position will address one of two roles:

  • design the inclusive curriculum focused on core

academic content needed by the unit and integrating

content into learning opportunities, or

  • develop the academic success strategies that build student independence and allow students to navigate that curriculum effectively.

This position will support academic advisement, provide on campus and online course instruction while integrating instructional strategies related to individuals with diverse learning needs Clinical faculty will contribute to the overall instructional quality of the Educational Opportunities Program within the SOE. Clinical faculty will teach academic courses as needed to support the overall SOE programmatic needs and Conceptual Framework.

Clinical faculty support academic advisement and provide instruction for both on-campus and online courses, integrating specialized strategies for students with diverse learning needs. In this role, they contribute to the overall instructional quality of the School of Education's (SOE) Educational Opportunities Program. Additionally, clinical faculty teach academic courses as required to meet the broader programmatic needs and Conceptual Framework of the SOE

Position Responsibilities:

Instructional Excellence: Provide high-quality instruction for both on-campus and online courses, ensuring the integration of specialized strategies to support students with diverse learning needs.

Academic Advisement: Support students through dedicated academic advisement and guidance.

Program Contribution: Contribute to the overall instructional quality and success of the Educational Opportunities Program (EOP) within the School of Education (SOE).

Curriculum Support: Teach academic courses as required to meet the programmatic needs and uphold the Conceptual Framework of the School of Education.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of inclusive postsecondary educationmodels and transition-to-adulthood frameworks

  • Experience with curriculum design, assessment, andnontraditional instructional models
  • Ability to work effectively in collaborative,interdisciplinary environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to equity, access, and inclusive excellence in higher education

Minimum Education/Experience

Doctoral degree in Special Education, Social Work,Rehabilitation Counseling, or related field.

  • Demonstrated commitment to working and servingstudents with intellectual and developmentaldisabilities and their families.
  • Demonstrated success in leading administrativetasks, project and team management, andcommunication.

Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation

Preferred license/certification in related area(s).
