    The Undergraduate Nursing Department in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, at the University of Texas Arlington invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor, Academic Professional Track.

    This position provides leadership and administrative oversight for undergraduate nursing student success initiatives and supports the Office of the Chair in matters related to student progression, regulatory requirements, and program completion. Supervises the Student Success unit and coordinates services that promote student transition, engagement, academic progression, and professional development. Provides oversight for Texas Board of Nursing, criminal background check, licensure, scholarship, and graduation-related processes in collaboration with designated staff and appropriate college and university offices. Leads the mission and continuous improvement of undergraduate orientation and transition programming, provides strategic guidance for career and student engagement initiatives, and collaborates with faculty, committees, and university partners to support student and faculty success. Communicate with students and, when authorized and appropriate, families or designated support persons regarding complex admission, progression, and program matters.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinates, tracks, and assists with student activities related to the Texas Board of Nursing. Verify graduating undergraduate BSN students have met the licensure requirements a manage the Texas Board of Nursing roster. Coordinate criminal background checks for Nursing & Health students. Complete Nursing Program Verification form for the students seeking accommodations for RN licensure. Provide licensure information to AO senior 2 student.
    • Collaborates with undergraduate nursing leadership, admissions personnel, and relevant committees regarding undergraduate admission processes and student transition into the nursing program.
    • Leads the mission, design, and continuous improvement of undergraduate nursing orientation and transition programming. Collaborates with Student Success personnel, faculty, advising, and other partners to support implementation. Provides strategic input regarding undergraduate career-readiness initiatives and delegates planning and implementation of career events to the Student Success unit.
    • Collaborates with the Undergraduate Education Program Council regarding policies and handbook content that affect student progression and success.
    • Provides leadership and oversight for a coordinated undergraduate student-support and escalation process. Collaborates with lead faculty, Student Success personnel, and undergraduate nursing leadership regarding complex, recurring, or escalated student concerns. Communicates with students and, when authorized and appropriate, families or designated support persons regarding complex program matters.
    • Act as resource liaison for student resources, including College (short term loans & program letters) and University (CAPS, Care Team, and SAR Center).
    • Provides oversight for undergraduate scholarship processes and collaborates with designated staff and committees to support appropriate review, award administration, donor requirements, and student communication.
    • Represents undergraduate nursing on college and university committees related to student success, student progression, undergraduate education, faculty onboarding, and academic support.
    • Provides leadership and administrative oversight for the undergraduate Student Success unit. Supervises the Manager of Student Success and other assigned personnel, establishes broad priorities, supports staff development, and evaluates the effectiveness of services and initiatives. Partners with the Manager of Student Success to coordinate daily operations, student outreach, programming, referrals, and follow-up activities.

    Required Qualifications

    • Masters in nursing degree
    • 5 year's experience in nursing academia
    • Active RN license (Texas)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Doctorate in Nursing degree
