Job Summary/Basic Functions

Seeking a skilled Dental Anesthesiologist (DDS/DMD + residency) for our Ambulatory Surgery Center in the School of Dentistry. Deliver safe sedation/general anesthesia, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (oral surgeons, pediatric dentists, general dentists, faculty), and train residents-80% clinical effort. Expertise in pharmacology, patient risk assessment, communication, and emergencies is required. Enhance outcomes, ensure compliance, and elevate our program. Louisiana license + sedation permit essential.

Other Information About the Position

Dental Anesthesiologist provides specialized anesthesia services for oral / maxillofacial surgery procedures, pediatric dental procedures, and general dental procedures in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) setting, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including oral surgeons, pediatric dentist, general dentists, and other dental faculty. They manage patient safety across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases for complex cases like wisdom tooth extractions, implants, and jaw reconstructions

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: DDS/DMD

Certifications or Licenses Required: Active state dental license (DDS/DMD) and general anesthesia permit; BLS; ACLS; PALS

Type of experience required to perform the job: DDS/DMD from an accredited dental school, plus completion of a CODA-accredited Dental Anesthesiology residency program
