A Front Row Seat to Innovation Position Purpose- The Clinical Assistant Senior (CA Sr) is an experienced CA who assists patients and families by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs. The CA Sr provides comfort, transportation, vital sign monitoring, and other delegated tasks. In addition, the CA Sr supports and assists nursing personnel and other providers in diagnostic procedures and technical treatments and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The CA Sr participates in unit committees and taskforces and supports process improvement work. The CA Sr is a resource to the CA and nursing team on CA scope of practice. Department: Our NICU is a Level 4, 82-bed unit. We treat neonate, infant, and pediatric patients less than 2 years old with conditions including hypoxemic respiratory failure, infections, hematological, neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic disorders, single major or multiple anomalies requiring diagnostic work-up and/or surgical intervention. We provide continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), renal dialysis and body cooling for neonates among many other therapies to provide the highest level of neonatal care to infants and their families. Annual Salary Range $41,600 to $51,171 (Based on 40 hours worked per week and years of experience) / Hourly Hours per week: Full time, 3-12hr shifts per week. Qualifications: EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent is required. EXPERIENCE - Two (2) years in health care as a Clinical Nursing Assistant or equivalent. Demonstrated experience as a clinical area resource, educator and/or informal mentor/coach to colleagues and participating in initiatives and projects that support patient care within scope of practice. CERTIFICATION(S) - Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association is required. LICENSURE - Current Colorado state CNA license or Current Colorado state Emergency Medical Technician-Basic or A-EMT or EMT-Intermediate Job Highlights: Attends to the individual needs of patients, which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, transferring, providing comfort, and communicating patient needs with other members of the healthcare team. Mentors less experienced Clinical Assistants or new hires as required; may assist in training and orienting team members to department as needed. Performs and educates on various tasks as assigned, including checking vital signs, weighing patients, applying creams/ointments, applying/changing dressings and collecting specimens. Responsible for higher levels of care for patients and more complex functions as needed within competencies. Advocates and supports patient needs by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to healthcare team members.
