Clinical Case Educator (RN) – Oncology | Hybrid {173206}

Responsibilities

• Educate and counsel new and existing patients regarding specialty oncology medications and treatment plans.
• Conduct telephonic patient assessments and provide nursing education on medication adherence, symptom management, and potential side effects.
• Support patients throughout their therapy by following established call schedules and medication management programs.
• Collaborate with providers, pharmacists, and internal care teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document all patient interactions accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA, accreditation standards, and company policies.
• Identify and report adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs) in accordance with FDA, manufacturer, and regulatory requirements.
• Verify specialty medication therapies and serve as a clinical liaison between providers and patients.
• Maintain accurate patient demographic information and medical records.
• Assist Pharmacy Support teams to ensure timely medication delivery and continuity of care.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with unrestricted North Carolina licensure or
• Compact (Multistate) License.
• Associate Degree, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or accredited nursing diploma.
• Minimum 4 years of acute care nursing experience.
• Ability to obtain additional nursing licenses for supported states within three months of employment through employer-sponsored licensing assistance.
• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and web-based clinical documentation systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interpret clinical practice guidelines, regulatory standards, and technical procedures.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Oncology nursing experience.
• Telehealth or telephone triage experience.
• Specialty pharmacy or medication therapy management experience.
• Experience educating patients on specialty medications.
• Motivational interviewing experience.
• Background in infusion therapy, hematology, solid tumors, or oral oncology therapies.
