Join May Institute's nationally recognized Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and school consultation team as a Clinical Consultant, where your expertise as a skilled consultant and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will drive large-scale impact across schools, districts, and agencies. You'll provide high-level consultation, coaching, and capacity-building to shape inclusive, data-informed systems that support student success.

This is an ideal role for experienced clinicians seeking to expand their influence beyond direct service-offering a dynamic mix of school-based consultation, systems design, professional development, and leadership.

What You'll Do

  • Lead School-Based Behavioral Consultation: Deliver expert consultation to public and private schools implementing PBIS and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), with a focus on improving equity, access, and behavioral outcomes.
  • Guide Functional Behavior Assessment & Intervention: Conduct advanced functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and design individualized behavior support plans that align with ethical standards and best practices in the field.
  • Coach Educators and Leadership Teams: Provide ongoing training, coaching, and technical assistance to school staff and administrators, ensuring fidelity of implementation and staff capacity-building.
  • Drive Systems-Level Change: Collaborate with district leaders to assess, develop, and refine school-wide systems, practices, and data tools that support sustainable behavioral and academic success.
  • Lead Data-Driven Decision Making: Support teams in collecting, analyzing, and using data to inform instruction, monitor interventions, and evaluate overall system performance.
  • Serve as part of a Program Evaluation Team: Assist with program evaluations in collaboration with program stakeholders to assess implementation of evidenced-based practices and inform development of comprehensive recommendations to support program enhancement, professional development for school staff, and maximize outcomes for students.

What You Bring

  • Certification: Active BCBA certification (Preferred)
  • Education: Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a related field. Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years post-certification, with demonstrated experience in school-based settings, systems-level consultation, and capacity-building.
  • Expertise: Strong working knowledge of PBIS, MTSS, and function-based behavior support strategies in K-12 environments.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, facilitation, and coaching skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex organizational dynamics. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365 and associated applications (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
  • Mindset: Commitment to equity-centered practices, cultural responsiveness, and inclusion for all students.

Why Join Us?

  • Broaden Your Impact: Work across schools and districts to drive scalable, sustainable changes that benefit thousands of students.
  • Lead With Autonomy: Take ownership of your consultation portfolio with flexibility, support, and trust in your clinical judgment.
  • National Reach, Local Focus: Be part of a respected national nonprofit while working directly with regional education partners and school communities.
  • Professional Excellence: Join a team of experienced BCBAs and clinicians committed to collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy robust benefits including competitive compensation, medical/dental/vision insurance, 403(b) with employer match, tuition reimbursement, student loan support, and more.
