Key Responsibilities
- Collect, organize, validate, and analyze clinical and healthcare data from multiple sources.
- Analyze patient, clinical, operational, and research datasets to identify trends and patterns.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate clinical data insights.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data from healthcare databases.
- Perform data cleaning, transformation, validation, and quality checks.
- Identify data discrepancies, missing information, and inconsistencies and assist with resolution.
- Support clinical research, quality improvement, population health, and healthcare operations initiatives.
- Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, data engineers, business analysts, and healthcare operations teams.
- Translate clinical and business requirements into analytical and reporting solutions.
- Prepare recurring and ad-hoc analytical reports for healthcare stakeholders.
- Monitor clinical and operational KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain documentation related to data sources, definitions, analytical methodologies, and reporting processes.
- Support data extraction and analysis for clinical studies, audits, and healthcare initiatives.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure appropriate handling of confidential healthcare information and follow applicable data privacy requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Public Health, Clinical Research, Computer Science, Information Systems, Biology, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of data analysis, data quality, and data visualization concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand healthcare or clinical requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with healthcare and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of Python, R, SAS, or similar analytical programming languages.
- Familiarity with healthcare databases, clinical data warehouses, or EHR systems.
- Exposure to Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or other Electronic Health Record systems.
- Understanding of healthcare data standards such as ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, LOINC, or SNOMED CT is a plus.
- Familiarity with clinical research, healthcare quality, population health, or healthcare operations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data privacy requirements.
- Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar database technologies.
- Exposure to ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with healthcare claims, clinical documentation, laboratory, or patient outcomes data is beneficial.
