Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Clinical Data Manager with a strong STEM foundation who understands not just data systems, but the science behind the clinical data. This role is ideal for someone who can operate as a true partner to cross-functional teams, bringing both technical expertise and scientific insight to clinical data management activities.

This is not a purely operational data role—we are looking for someone who can interpret, question, and enhance data through a scientific lens.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage clinical trial data from collection through database lock
  • Develop, review, and maintain data management plans, CRFs, and edit checks
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality across clinical studies
  • Collaborate closely with clinical, biostatistics, and programming teams
  • Interpret clinical data in context of underlying scientific principles
  • Contribute to database design and optimization
  • Partner with programmers to understand and improve data flow and structure
  • Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Proactively suggest enhancements to data collection and management strategies
  • Act as a key contributor in cross-functional team discussions
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a STEM field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, or related)
  • 5+ years of clinical data management experience
  • Strong understanding of the scientific context of clinical data
  • Hands-on experience with EDC systems (e.g., Medidata Rave, Veeva, Oracle)
  • Working knowledge of clinical data structures and programming logic
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with statistical programmers and data engineers
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data concepts
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
