    Job Description

    Shriners Children's Chicago has an opportunity for a part-time Clinical Dietician.  In this position you will be responsible for developing and implementing nutrition care plans for all hospitalized patients. Functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team. Contributes to the values and mission of the hospital by promoting best practices in nutrition, participating in performance improvement initiatives and optimizing patient outcomes through education and research.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develops and implements nutrition care plans including initial assessment of patients’ nutritional status, patient risk and estimated nutrient requirements.

    • Determines appropriate route and composition of nutritional therapy.

    • Determines and ensures use of appropriate parameters to monitor patient response to nutritional therapy and makes modifications as necessary to achieve desired outcome.

    • Performs metabolic cart studies to identify patient energy requirement.

    • Determines criteria for patient nutrition education and provides nutrition counseling to patients consistent with their comprehensive needs and long term goals.

    • Collaborates with Care Coordinator to address special nutritional needs for patients discharge planning.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Food and Nutrition Science

    • Current Illinois Clinical Dietician license

    • 3 years clinical experience

    • 3 years nutrition support experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's in Dietetics or Food and Nutrition Science

    • Pediatric Clinical Nutrition

    The pay range for this position is $35.37 - $53.05. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
