Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 1 Weekend Every 5 Weeks
Pay Rate: $37.00 – $42.00 per hour (Based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Dietitian to provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy for a diverse inpatient population while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, reassessments, follow-up evaluations, and identify patients at risk for malnutrition using the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) and evidence-based practice guidelines.
Develop, implement, monitor, and modify individualized nutrition care plans based on patients' medical conditions, nutritional status, laboratory values, medications, and clinical course.
Provide medical nutrition therapy for medical, surgical, critical care, cardiac, oncology, neurology, orthopedic, renal, gastrointestinal, and other specialty inpatient populations, including assessment and management of enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers, collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team, participate in rounds and discharge planning, interpret laboratory and clinical findings, maintain accurate EMR documentation, prioritize patient workload, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental projects.
Required Qualifications
Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required.
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Experience providing medical nutrition therapy, nutrition assessments, malnutrition evaluations, enteral and parenteral nutrition support, nutrition education, and electronic medical record documentation.
Strong critical thinking, communication, organizational, time management, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills with the ability to independently manage diverse inpatient medical and surgical populations.
Preferred Qualifications
Acute care hospital experience preferred.
Experience with critical care, enteral nutrition, and parenteral nutrition preferred.
Experience with Epic electronic medical records preferred.
