Confidential Leadership Opportunity

A growing behavioral healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Clinical Director to lead clinical services within a specialized eating disorder treatment program in Texas.

This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced clinician who understands the complexities of treating eating disorders and can effectively lead a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Direct eating disorder treatment experience is REQUIRED. Candidates without eating disorder experience will not be considered.

The Role

The Clinical Director will be responsible for the overall quality and effectiveness of clinical care, providing leadership to the treatment team while ensuring programming remains clinically sound, compliant, and aligned with evidence-based eating disorder treatment.

This individual will work closely with clinical, medical, nutritional, and operational leadership to create an integrated treatment environment and maintain exceptional standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary clinical team

  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and performance management

  • Oversee treatment planning and ensure individualized, clinically appropriate care

  • Maintain the quality and consistency of therapeutic programming

  • Lead clinical case consultation and treatment team discussions

  • Partner closely with medical, nursing, dietary, and operational teams

  • Ensure clinical documentation meets regulatory, payer, and accreditation expectations

  • Monitor caseloads, clinical performance, and quality-of-care indicators

  • Provide guidance on complex cases, escalations, and clinical risk

  • Support staff education and continued development in evidence-based eating disorder treatment

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen programming, clinical outcomes, and the overall patient experience

Required Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related clinical discipline

  • Active, unrestricted Texas clinical license as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Psychologist

  • Eating disorder treatment experience REQUIRED

  • Previous clinical leadership or supervisory experience REQUIRED

  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches for eating disorders

  • Experience working within multidisciplinary behavioral healthcare teams

  • Strong understanding of clinical documentation, compliance, and quality standards

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and hold clinical teams accountable

Preferred Background

  • Previous Clinical Director, Assistant Clinical Director, or comparable leadership experience

  • Experience within residential, PHP, IOP, or other structured eating disorder treatment settings

  • Experience treating co-occurring mental health conditions and trauma

  • Familiarity with accreditation and regulatory requirements

  • Experience working closely with dietitians, medical providers, and other specialized disciplines

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced eating disorder clinician who has progressed into leadership while remaining connected to the clinical work.

They should be confident leading experienced clinicians, comfortable addressing difficult clinical situations, and capable of balancing excellent patient care with documentation, compliance, staff development, and organizational expectations.

Above all, this person must understand eating disorder treatment. General behavioral health or substance use experience alone will not meet the requirements for this position.
