Summary:
The Clinical Director provides clinical and administrative oversight for all contracted treatment services within the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS). The Clinical Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of evidence-based and clinically appropriate substance use disorder services to incarcerated individuals with substance use disorders. This position chiefly oversees clinical and administrative operations and ensures that programs comply with all contracting agency requirements, evidence-based practices and company policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Health and Human Services and two years as an administrator or supervisor preferably within a correctional or residential program and possess one of the following certifications:
Certified Professional Counselor - Alcohol and Drug (CPC-AD) or
Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) or
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with an Approved Supervisor Letter in Alcohol and Drug Counseling.
Experience with Accreditations and Audits Required.
Ability to understand a variety of models including cognitive behavioral therapy, theories of addiction and dynamics related to substance use and other criminogenic risk factors.
Ability to know and comply with program documentation requirements, applicable ethical and professional standards of conduct.
Ability to conduct initial clinical assessments and/or evaluations which serve as the basis for diagnosis and treatment.
Ability to provide services appropriate to the personal and cultural identity and language of the participant.
Ability to tailor helping strategies and treatment modalities to the participant''s stage of dependence, change, or recovery.
Ability to appropriately use strategies from accepted and culturally appropriate models with participants with substance use and other criminogenic risk factors.
Able to establish rapport with Participants, including management of crisis situation and determination of need for additional professional assistance.
Travel required with some work on weekends or evenings required.
Ability to interact in a professional manner in both individual and group counseling settings.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
