Job Summary
The Coordinator of Clinical Education establishes clinical experiences for the Respiratory Therapy program and is responsible for the program's compliance with the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) standards for clinical education. The coordinator creates the bridge between academic education and clinical respiratory therapy practice through collaboration between academic faculty and clinical educators. Assuring an optimal and well-rounded learning environment for each student, the coordinator designs and evaluates clinical curriculum materials; develops and implements classroom, lab, and clinical learning experiences; and plans, implements, and assesses student learning outcomes.
Essential Functions
Clinical Coordination. An essential role of the coordinator is to identify, secure, and assign sites for clinical education. The coordinator is expected to:
Teaching: The Coordinator of Clinical Education is also an instructor and is responsible to teach and facilitate student learning. Teaching activities may occur online or face-to-face in a classroom, clinical, lab, or hospital setting. The

Curriculum Development: Cabarrus College faculty are responsible for building degree programs that embody coherent courses of study and allow students to progressively build upon and integrate their knowledge and skills.
The Coordinator of Clinical Education is expected to:
Scholarship: Cabarrus College faculty are expected to continually develop their knowledge of pedagogy, their academic discipline, and as appropriate, their clinical profession. Scholarship activities may include yet are not limited

Education, Experience and Certifications:
Minimum requirement of a master's degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized regional or national accrediting body.
