Overview

Job Summary

Creates, implements, and evaluates staff education and professional development activities and programs to optimize patient outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates ongoing educational and professional development activities and programs for clinical and non-clinical areas by utilizing a variety of innovative and creative teaching strategies to meet individual and group learning needs.
  • Collaborates with staff and representatives of other departments and/or organizations to develop, present and or evaluate clinically focused training, continuing education and or professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborates with leadership to assess the educational and competency assessment needs of the staff and develops appropriate educational plans.
  • Participates in professional development and lifelong learning.
  • Actively participates in department, hospital and system wide committees, taskforce and initiatives that promote safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Participates in relevant accreditation readiness.
  • Assist with promoting and maintaining interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork through effective lines of communication and participation with other departments and disciplines.
  • Provides education support for nursing departments based on identified needs.
  • Boone Health has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degrees:  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/Healthcare related
  • Experience:  2-5 years
  • Supervisor Experience: None
  • Licenses & Certifications: RN, BLS


Preferred Qualifications

  • Degrees: Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Experience:  5-10 years
  • Supervisor Experience: None
  • Licenses & Certifications: BLS
  • Professional Board Certification in relevant specialty (e.g., CNE, NPD-BC)
  • Experience with high-fidelity simulation
