Position Overview:
Drive clinical performance improvement across the organization. Provides strategic direction and leadership for programs or projects focused on achieving the highest level of quality, safety and/or patient centeredness. Provide clinical leadership, direction, consultation, guidance and support for performance improvement strategies to improve treatment and care of patients with specific disease processes. Identify areas for improvement, and lead and facilitate the development, deployment, and monitoring of clinical quality improvement projects, patient safety improvement initiatives, and organization improvements to achieve top decile clinical outcomes and accelerate the achievement of clinical quality and safety goals. Assigned to specific performance improvement teams, to provide clinical expertise, performance improvement consultation, analysis, gap assessment, group/team facilitation and development, and guidance for the dissemination of practices that result in improved clinical outcomes. Deliverables result in practical, significant and measurable improvements in quality, safety, service and efficiency across the organization. Consult and coach process owners, value stream owners, leaders and sponsors as well as improvement team members. Contribute to the development of clinical metrics, dashboards, and scorecards used to measure clinical improvement. Contribute to the development of change management plans including stakeholder engagement, communications, training and implementation/adoption in alignment with the enterprise performance management system. Develop, implement, and evaluate a plan for deployment of the new care processes and protocols. Utilize best practice methodologies for the dissemination and spread of improvement solutions and coordinate the standardization and spread of evidence-based practice improvements.
Job Description:
Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or related field
Experience Requirement: 2 years of experience in a clinical consultant or related role
Specific Requirements:
2 years of experience in the following:
Health care delivery and quality improvement, including clinical care management and quality management; Lean performance improvement methodology and management systems; Teaching improvement concepts and principles to diverse audiences; Teaching and consulting with physician, nurses, and quality leaders about outcome data; Leading, facilitating and developing teams and interacting effectively across the organization; Consulting, group process facilitation, whole system design, negotiation, change management and conflict resolution; Solving complex problems and developing actionable solutions or recommendations; Facilitating planning sessions to secure high level sponsorship, support and required resources for improvement initiatives; Gathering and analyzing clinical data and preparing relevant reports; Reading and interpreting clinical data, as well as translating data into meaningful information and using data to shape work at both the department and enterprise level in a clinical setting; and Microsoft Office applications.
