About the Opportunity

A growing behavioral healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Clinical Executive Director to provide senior-level leadership across its clinical operations.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an accomplished behavioral health professional who can combine strong clinical judgment with operational discipline. The Clinical Executive Director will be responsible for developing high-performing teams, strengthening clinical programming, establishing clear performance expectations, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality care.

This position requires a leader who is comfortable being highly visible and actively engaged in the day-to-day clinical environment.

Position Overview

The Clinical Executive Director will have broad responsibility for clinical performance, staff development, program quality, and organizational standards.

Working alongside executive, medical, nursing, and operational leadership, this individual will help create the structure and accountability necessary to deliver exceptional behavioral healthcare consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior leadership and direction to clinical teams
  • Develop, mentor, and evaluate clinical leaders and frontline staff
  • Strengthen clinical workflows, programming, and standards of care
  • Establish measurable expectations around staff performance, productivity, and clinical quality
  • Ensure appropriate caseload distribution and effective utilization of clinical resources
  • Maintain strong standards for treatment planning and clinical documentation
  • Lead clinical meetings, supervision, and complex case consultation
  • Recruit and develop high-performing clinical professionals
  • Evaluate existing processes and implement improvements where needed
  • Partner with medical, nursing, compliance, and operational leadership
  • Monitor clinical quality indicators and address performance gaps
  • Maintain readiness for regulatory and accreditation reviews
  • Promote a culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and exceptional patient care

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health discipline
  • Active, unrestricted Florida clinical license required in any of the following:
    • LCSW
    • LMHC
    • LMFT
    • Licensed Psychologist
  • 3+ years of clinical leadership experience within behavioral healthcare
  • Previous experience leading clinical teams in a structured treatment environment
  • Demonstrated success supervising and developing clinicians
  • Strong understanding of behavioral healthcare documentation, compliance, and quality standards
  • Experience implementing clinical processes and holding teams accountable to measurable expectations
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in South Florida

Preferred Background

  • Residential behavioral healthcare leadership
  • Substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health treatment experience
  • Eating disorder treatment experience
  • Multi-program or multi-site leadership
  • Florida Qualified Supervisor designation
  • Joint Commission and/or CARF experience

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is both a clinician and an operator.

This individual understands how to build an exceptional clinical program but also recognizes that great care requires structure, consistency, strong leadership, and accountability.

They should be comfortable developing talented clinicians, addressing performance issues directly, improving systems, and creating an environment where both staff and patients know what to expect.

This is best suited for a leader who wants to be actively involved in the clinical organization, rather than managing exclusively from an administrative level.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive executive-level compensation based on experience, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and long-term professional growth opportunities.
