What We're Looking For:
- Education: Graduate Degree, required. Master's degree in Exercise and Sports Science or Exercise Physiology, required.
- Experience: Minimum of one year hospital, clinic, or rehabilitation experience as an Exercise Physiologist; preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: ACSM Certification in Clinical Exercise Physiology within 6 months of hire (Certification Agreement signed upon hire), required.
- Additional Skills Required:
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of all phases of routine and critical cardiac and respiratory care, with an emphasis on adult, chronic disease management.
- Abilities to perform decisively in critical situations and to incorporate many types of data.
- Has the knowledge, skills and ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
- Has the ability to supervise exercise, monitor patients during exercise, and modify exercise prescriptions for cardio-pulmonary patients, in conjunction with registered nurses and/or physician as needed.
- Has effective communication and interpersonal skills to relate to patients, families, nurses, physicians and other department and hospital staff.
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
What You'll Do:
Leads patients in all disciplines of Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation in accordance with current cardiac and pulmonary policies and procedures with an emphasis on cardiac and pulmonary health as it relates to exercise.
