    Position Responsibilities

    Position Summary

    The University of Idaho College of Engineering seeks applicants for an Assistant Clinical Faculty member on an academic year appointment in the Department of Computer Science and Cybersecurity. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science and cybersecurity, combining lectures with laboratory, project-based, and experiential learning. Instruction may be delivered locally, online, hybrid, across campuses, and through hands-on laboratory experiences. Candidates with practical industry experience, professional certifications, or applied research interests in cybersecurity are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Applicants should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrate a commitment to student success, mentorship, and continuous program improvement. Faculty are expected to contribute to departmental, college, and university service activities and to support the University's mission of engaged learning and community impact.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education/Degree Required Listed degree qualification is required at time of hire. Required Qualifications

    • An earned M.S. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
    • Experience in written and oral communication.
    • Experience working collaboratively.
    • Experience teaching courses in Computer Science and Cybersecurity or related experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • An earned Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
    • Demonstrated excellence in university-level instruction.
    • Demonstrated experience supporting student growth and academic development and achievement.
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully mentor and advise undergraduate students.
    • Demonstrated interest and potential in pursuing and/or supporting research and scholarship activities.
    • Interest in pursuing and supporting research and scholarship activities
    • Demonstrated potential for learning and implementing innovative hands-on instructional methods.
    • Demonstrated potential for delivering instruction in a variety of formats including, but not limited to, local, online, hybrid, hands-on, and laboratory.
