The Department of Nursing at the University of South Dakota (USD) is seeking applications for a full-time clinical nursing faculty member at the Sioux Falls campus.

This is a 9-month, full-time position that provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the education and development of future nurses in a supportive and dynamic academic environment. The faculty member will be responsible for providing clinical instruction predominantly in direct patient care clinical, simulation and lab setting for pre-licensure students. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical teaching in direct patient care, lab and simulation.
  • Evaluation of student learning.
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Contribution to departmental service activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current unencumbered nursing license, eligible for licensure in South Dakota.
  • Minimum of a master's degree in nursing from a nationally accredited program by August 18, 2026.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong nursing background with experience in medical-surgical nursing.
  • Experience teaching in a baccalaureate of higher degree program.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to work with technology.
