Key Responsibilities
Perform high‑complexity HLA testing, including:
HLA typing (NGS, SSP, RT‑PCR platforms)
HLA antibody screening and identification (FlowPRA, Luminex, SAB)
Virtual and physical crossmatches
Analyze, interpret, and document HLA test results in accordance with ASHI standards
Prepare and process clinical and donor specimens (whole blood, serum, DNA, tissues)
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot specialized HLA instruments such as:
Luminex platforms
NGS sequencers
qPCR / amplification instruments
Flow cytometers
Perform quality control (QC), proficiency testing (PT), and maintain accurate documentation
Assist with assay validations, method comparisons, and lot‑to‑lot verifications
Participate in workflow improvement, troubleshooting, and CAPA activities
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clinical partners
Support training of new staff as needed
Participate in rotational On-Call duties during weekends and holidays
Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years of experience in an ASHI‑accredited HLA laboratory
Familiarity with HLA testing workflows, including:
HLA typing
Flow cytometry crossmatches
Luminex platforms (One Lambda)
Experience performing and interpreting SAB assays
Understanding of virtual crossmatching and transplant matching algorithms
Experience with LIMS/LIS systems commonly used in HLA labs
Experience with method validations or data review
