    • Lead onsite employer vaccination events throughout the fall respiratory season.
    • Conduct spring catch-up vaccination clinics focused on routine adult immunizations and wellness initiatives.
    • Travel to employer, community, long-term care, and public vaccination locations.
    • Ensure compliance with state regulations, vaccine storage and handling requirements, and documentation standards.
    • Complete all vaccine documentation in the pharmacy management system and state immunization registries.
    • Manage vaccine inventory, supplies, and cold-chain requirements for mobile clinics.
    • Educate patients regarding vaccine recommendations and preventive health.
    • Represent the organization professionally during community outreach events.
    • Assist with development of new employer partnerships and community immunization opportunities.
    • Participate in planning and execution of seasonal vaccine initiatives.

    2. Pharmacy Float Coverage (Secondary Responsibility)

During periods of lower immunization demand, provide pharmacist coverage throughout the Des Moines metro area.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Float between assigned pharmacy locations as operational needs require.
    • Verify prescriptions and provide safe, accurate dispensing.
    • Counsel patients on medications and disease state management.
    • Support medication therapy management (MTM) and clinical services.
    • Assist pharmacy teams in maintaining workflow and patient satisfaction.
    • Support implementation of clinical initiatives and quality programs.
    • Mentor pharmacy staff regarding immunization best practices and workflow optimization.
    • Maintain compliance with all company policies and state/federal regulations.

    Preferred

    • Experience conducting mass immunization clinics
    • Strong organizational and scheduling skills
    • Excellent communication and public speaking abilities
    • Experience working with employer wellness programs
    • Familiarity with pharmacy management software and immunization registries

    Benefits to the Organization

This hybrid position provides several strategic advantages:

    • Maximizes utilization of a dedicated clinical pharmacist throughout the year.
    • Expands immunization revenue through increased employer and community outreach.
    • Improves staffing flexibility by reducing reliance on external relief pharmacists.
