Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy is recruiting for a pharmacy resident position of 1-year duration. The resident pharmacist will be hired as a Clinical Instructor in the COP. The resident is expected to perform applicable duties associated with a clinical partner, Tandem Health. The duties include:

• Conducting patient care duties fulfilled through rotational experiences as outlined by residency leadership and the affiliated clinical partner. • Conducting quality initiatives and a major research project as approved by residency leadership, adhering to American Society of Health-System Pharmacists residency standards related to practice, research, and professionalism. • Attending required conferences, meetings, and professional development opportunities outlined by residency leadership. • Completing the Clinical Teaching Certificate program through the College of Pharmacy.

This position is from July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from ACPE-accredited College/School of Pharmacy PGY1 and PGY2 (For PGY2 positions only, completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 program) Available for pharmacist licensure in the state of South Carolina

Required Certification Licensure Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from ACPE-accredited College/School of Pharmacy PGY1 and PGY2 (For PGY2 positions only, completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 program) Available for pharmacist licensure in the state of South Carolina Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Excellent written and oral communication, teaching skills, adequate clinical competence, professional ethics, and sufficient clinical experience. Completion of a PGY1 residency from an ASHP-accredited program.

Job Duties

To conduct patient care through rotational experiences outlined by residency requirements and by affiliated clinical partners. (Essential Function, 50% of time)

To conduct quality initiatives and conduct a major research project approved by the Residency leadership and also work on Rural health projects. (Essential Function, 30% of time)

To provide service to the college and profession through pharmacy organizations, e.g., local, state, regional, and/or national. To attend required conferences, meetings, and professional development opportunities outlined by residency leadership. (Essential Function, 10% of time)

To complete the Clinical Teaching Certificate Program provided by the College of Pharmacy. (Essential Function, 10% of time)
