Job Description

The simulation manager is responsible for the overall direction and assisting the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) Program Director in the coordination of the simulation curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that nurse anesthesia residents are evaluated in the simulation lab consistent with the principles of simulation education.
  • Provides strategic direction for simulation curriculum and evaluation, simulation pedagogy, and purchasing of equipment
  • Design and implement simulation scenarios tailored to anesthesia topics (e.g., airway crises, hemodynamic instability, regional anesthesia complications).
  • Ensure simulation aligns with curriculum objectives and COA standards.
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate simulations into didactic and clinical coursework.
  • Maintain simulation equipment (manikins, task trainers, audiovisual systems).
  • Oversee simulation space setup, safety, scheduling, and inventory.
  • Ensure all equipment is functional, calibrated, and updated regularly.
