Job Summary

The role involves performing analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids to aid health care providers in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of patients. The position includes participating in operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities. Testing is conducted in specialized laboratories and may involve highly skilled manual techniques or automated testing using sophisticated instrumentation.

Schedule

Shift Details: 2:30pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday. Training will be from 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday for approximately one month.

Additional Information

The role is part of the Central Processing Lab team, responsible for pre-analytic specimen processing. Duties include operating a variety of laboratory and office equipment, entering information and test orders into the laboratory computer system, and responding to a high volume of phone calls seeking laboratory testing information. Ensuring correct patient identification on specimens and documentation, and resolving pre-analytic specimen-related issues is crucial. The position may involve operating automated systems and providing training to others.
