Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) – Travel Assignment

Shift: Day Shift (5x8 Hours)
Location: Eureka, CA 95501
Shift Hours: 06:00 AM – 02:30 PM
Schedule: 5 days per week
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours


Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) for a day shift travel assignment in a hospital laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will perform a broad range of diagnostic testing to ensure accurate and timely results that support high-quality patient care and clinical decision-making.

This role requires strong generalist laboratory experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex laboratory testing across core disciplines, including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and related areas
  • Analyze patient specimens and ensure accurate, timely reporting of results
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Perform and document quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures
  • Review and validate test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability
  • Report critical values promptly to appropriate clinical staff
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and applicable laboratory standards
  • Process, handle, and store specimens in accordance with established protocols
  • Troubleshoot instrument issues and escalate concerns when necessary
  • Maintain complete and accurate laboratory documentation and records
  • Follow infection control and patient safety protocols at all times
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams
  • Support daily laboratory workflow and operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field (required)
  • Active Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license (state-specific, as applicable)
  • Prior clinical laboratory experience preferred; generalist experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of laboratory testing procedures and instrumentation
  • Knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and hospital laboratory compliance standards
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently in a high-volume clinical setting
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload efficiently
