ABOUT THE POSITION
Riverside University Health System is seeking a Per Diem - Clinical Laboratory Scientist for the Laboratory of the Medical Center, located in Moreno Valley, CA.
Ideal candidates will bring experience with blood bank/hematology testing and instrumentation, and have strong knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and laboratory regulations (CAP, CLIA, AABB, OSHA). They will have the ability to manage multiple priorities within a busy laboratory environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Shifts will generally be 3pm-11:30pm and 11:00pm - 7:30 am, with every other weekend (required), along with holidays and other shift coverage as needed. A valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license (MTA) is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Recruiting Guidelines
Knowledge of: Principles, techniques, equipment, and terminology necessary for the full range of laboratory diagnosis of diseases and abnormal conditions; Common disease causes; Methods of transmission and control of communicable diseases; Proper laboratory safety procedures.
Ability to: Operate, calibrate, and maintain technical laboratory equipment; Skillfully perform a wide range of difficult standardized laboratory test; Maintain technical records and prepare reports; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees; Assist in the instruction of entry level and student clinical laboratory technology personnel in laboratory techniques and procedures.
License: Possession of a valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist license issued by the State of California Department of Public Health.

Pre-Employment

BENEFIT PROGRAM: TMP
Per Diem employees participate in the 401(a) Temporary and Part-Time Employees Retirement Plan and are required to contribute 3.75% of salary to the pension plan. The County contributes a matching amount.

How many years of experience do you have performing the duties of a CLS (generalist) in a large hospital laboratory or a health system, multi-facility laboratory?

How many years of experience do you have specifically performing Blood Bank and Hematology testing (including antibody identification, CBCs, differential counts, coagulation studies, and body fluid analysis)?

Please acknowledge that you are able to commit to an evening/overnight shift schedule that at a minimum includes every other weekend, along with holiday and other shifts as required/operationally necessary.
