- Under the supervision of the Lab Director and Lab Manager, the Clinical Lab Scientist organizes and performs the daily activities of the area(s) to which he/she is assigned. Those areas include: Chemistry, Blood Bank, Hematology, Serology, Urinalysis, Coagulation and Microbiology.
- Supervises the proper performance of all laboratory procedures and reporting of test results in the absence of the Director or Clinical Lab Scientist Lead.
- Is responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
- Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patientâs needs; possesses knowledge of growth and development; and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for all patient groups.
- Performs waived, moderately complex, and highly complex testing expediently and accurately.
- Performs and logs daily quality control, works within quality control limits and trends, and follows proper department procedure for corrective actions and documentation.
- Performs preventive maintenance, calibration and verification, and instrumentation repairs.
- Communicates and reports abnormal findings to Physicians, Nursing Staff, and Pathologist, as necessary.
- Supervises the proper performance of all laboratory procedures and reporting of test results in the absence of the Director or Clinical Lab Scientist Lead.
Requirements
- Graduate of B.S. in Medical Technology or any related course
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license required
Shift: Nights, 12 hour shifts
Salary: $44.25 USD to $61.96 USD
