Introduction

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. This role is critical in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of our high-complexity clinical laboratory. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of laboratory practices and regulations. Job Responsibilities

The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor will oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and coordinating the activities of laboratory personnel to ensure high-quality testing and timely results.

  • Ensuring all laboratory procedures comply with regulatory standards and safety guidelines.

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining laboratory policies and procedures.

  • Managing laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining equipment.

  • Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing ongoing training and development for laboratory staff.

  • Collaborating with other departments to support patient care and laboratory services.

  • Analyzing laboratory data and metrics to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records for all laboratory activities.

Job Requirements:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related field

Minimum of 2 years direct experience in CLIA molecular high complexity laboratory testing.

Located within commutable distance to the lab, or able to relocate quickly

Experience in laboratory supervision, staff management, and compliance monitoring

Knowledge of maintaining lab equipment and managing lab supplies

Experience maintaining laboratory instrumentation, coordinating preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and managing laboratory inventory and supplies.

Proficiency in molecular diagnostic techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, real-time PCR (qPCR), quality control, and assay troubleshooting.

 

Preferred:

Experience developing, reviewing, and maintaining laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and technical documentation.

Knowledge of CLIA/COLA requirements specific to molecular diagnostic laboratories, including documentation, quality assurance, competency assessments, and validation requirements.

Experience validating molecular diagnostic assays on 96-well and/or 384-well real-time PCR platforms.
