Position Summary
The Clinical Nurse Manager provides leadership and direction to the clinical support team, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and a positive team culture. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, and collaborating with leadership to implement policies and procedures that align with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
- Foster an inspiring and supportive team environment through consistent, positive leadership.
- Provide guidance, instruction, coaching, and training to ensure staff perform to their highest potential.
- Support staff development by identifying training needs and mentoring team members in clinical competencies.
- Conduct routine staff meetings to maintain communication, engagement, and alignment with organizational priorities.
Operations & Clinical Oversight
- Oversee daily clinical operations, ensuring smooth workflow and appropriate staff coverage.
- Monitor staff adherence to policies, procedures, and professional standards; initiate corrective action as needed.
- Assist with clinical tasks when necessary to maintain adequate patient coverage and clinic flow.
- Ensure patient satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly, developing process improvements, and implementing patient-centered solutions.
Policy, Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures in collaboration with the Medical Director and Practice Administrator.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, labor laws, and all applicable provincial/territorial and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, records, and reporting related to clinical operations.
Human Resources & Staff Management
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new clinical team members.
- Ensure completion of initial and ongoing competency assessments.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback in collaboration with the Practice Administrator.
- Manage staff scheduling, PTO requests, and coverage to maintain operational needs.
Resource & Budget Management
- Maintain inventory of supplies and medical equipment; ensure cost-effective purchasing within budgetary guidelines.
- Coordinate vendor relationships for supply ordering and equipment servicing.
- Assist leadership in identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality of care.
Qualifications
- LPN license required
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
