Under the direction of the PACU Registered Nurses, the Medical Assistant performs general clinical duties as directed. We are seeking a motivated and dependable MA to be a positive first impression for patients and visitors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, a team player, and able to work in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering excellent care to our patients. This position is for 5 days a week (8 hrs. a day, M-F), NO Weekend, NO Holidays with competitive salary & benefits package. Primary Functions: · Assist RN's in admitting patients in pre-operative area · Provide assistance with continuous patient flow · Monitor par levels and supply the pre-operative areas for patient OR attire, extra linens, and other medical supplies (Glucometer test strips, needles, IV fluids...etc.). · Assist RN with recording vital signs, dressing patient, providing nourishment, and assist with ambulation. · Assist with patient transport via wheelchair upon discharge from PACU · Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA policies · Willingly perform other duties as directed by Assistant Clinical Director to accommodate department's needs. Qualifications: · High school graduate · Medical Assistant certification · Minimum one (1) year Medical Assistant experience preferred · Must be dependable and punctual · Must be organized and have ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner · Must be able to work under pressure and perform multiple tasks simultaneously · Comprehension of medical terminology · Excellent communication skills · Competency in oral and written skills · Flexibility in varying shift (8hr shifts ranging from 6am start to 5:30pm close) · Team Player This job posting is not meant to be all inclusive but to provide an overview of the job responsibilities.
