Serves to support orientation, competency programs, in-service education, continuing education, academic partnerships, career development and role transition at the Unit level for Mercy coworkers.

Required Education: Graduate from a university, college, or school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. (Or RN enrolled in BSN program within 6 months of hire.)
Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required. Nursing experience in the emergency department is vital for this role. Demonstrates clinical knowledge related to evidence-based practice with the credibility to positively influence the delivery of patient care. Proven ability to organize and multitask to meet project deadlines. Knowledge of equipment/technology used in delivery of patient care.
Preferred Experience: 2 years teaching experience. Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of audiovisual equipment is an advantage.
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current Missouri RN license and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed. Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications/additional life support certifications as required by specialty (ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, TNCC and/or ENPC)
Preferred Certifications: Certified or progress toward professional nursing certification in a specialty related to responsibilities (CEN, CFRN, CTRN) preferred.
Other: Physical requirements/demands: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
