Clinical Nurse Educator - Surgical Services
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
The Clinical Nurse Educator - Surgical Services is a key member of the clinical education team and supports the ongoing development of nursing staff within the Surgical Services. This role promotes clinical excellence through education, mentorship, and staff development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide education and training to Surgical Services nursing staff.
- Lead new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
- Develop and update educational materials and learning resources.
- Mentor and support new graduate nurses and staff members.
- Round on the unit to provide bedside education and clinical support.
- Assist with the implementation of new policies, procedures, and equipment.
- Support go-live initiatives and department education projects.
- Collaborate with nurse leaders and educators across the health system to ensure consistent educational practices.
- Promote evidence-based practice and support quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Graduate degree preferred; MSN preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of three years of clinical practice in area of specialization, required.
- RN professional certification in a relevant specialty required within six (6) months of hire.
- Previous education, precepting, or mentoring experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
