Clinical Nurse II - VCVH Emergency Department (Per Diem, Evening 3p-11p)

Job DescriptionAt NorthBay Health a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department you will provide safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care to our patients following Jean Watson's Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and the NorthBay's professional nursing practice model. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for all patients assigned to your care. You will also use a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient and their family along with your interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health for the patient.QualificationsEducation:Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursingNursing degree of BSN level or higher is required. (excludes grandfathered employees)License and Certifications:Valid, current and unencumbered RN license by the State of CaliforniaCurrent AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS requiredPALS or ENPC within six months of employmentTNCC or ATCN certification preferredCEN, CPEN, or TCRN preferredExperience, Knowledge, and Skills:A minimum of six months acute care RN experience required One-year RN experience as an emergency transport nurse is equivalent to six months of acute care experience.One year of ED RN experience preferredCompetent in providing skilled registered nursing care to emergent and trauma patientsProficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skillsOther:All RNs in the Patient Care Services Department are required to wear Graphite (Dark Gray) colored scrubs per the professional appearance policyWork Hours:Total Hours : At least four (4) shifts each month, or more as determined by the department's per diem availability standard and processShift : 8-hour shifts
