Responsibilities
The OB Clinical Nurse Navigator will serve as a clinical resource with expertise in Obstetrics & Gynecology. This position will serve as a point of contact for patients, caregivers, community resources, social work and the entire healthcare team for obstetric patient care for the Mercy Mead OB/GYN Department. In addition to being a liaison throughout the facility and coordinating community services for our patients. This position is an essential link for our patients and must be able to create trustful relationships between patients, caregivers, providers and outside systems/resources to aid in patient receiving necessary medical care and assistance, while demonstrating compassion and patient dignity. This team member must have the ability to coordinate multiple responsibilities and priorities.
The nurse should have the ability to review and interpret patient care information in addition provide further exemplary care plans accordingly with appropriate provider communication. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a strong interest in personal and professional growth.
Requirements
Education: Must possess BSN
Must possess: minimum 5 years obstetric, L&D experience and inpatient obstetric nursing certification preferred
License Requirements: RN, State of Maryland
Certification Requirements: CPR
Dept specific requirements NRP, BLS, C-EFM
Inpatient Obstetric Nursing Certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
Microsoft Outlook
Meditech (if applicable to position)
Epic (if applicable to position)
Performance Manager/NetLearning

Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
