A health services network in New York City is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the Bronx to provide community-based psychiatric nursing care for adults with serious mental illness.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Setting: Community-based
Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric nursing services in the community to adults with serious mental illness.
- Administer oral and long-acting injectable medications and monitor treatment response.
- Complete health assessments, phlebotomy, medication education, and clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with the psychiatrist, LPN, and interdisciplinary ACT team to coordinate care.
- Support community outreach and care coordination with hospitals, primary care providers, housing programs, shelters, family members, and criminal justice partners.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Psychiatric Nursing, Behavioral Health, Substance Use Treatment, or Social Services supporting adults with serious mental illness
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Knowledge of community-based treatment models and behavioral health resources
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Desired Skills:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish
- Experience with trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and motivational interviewing approaches
- Familiarity with psychiatric EMR documentation and Medicaid, OMH, or DOHMH guidelines
