The Clinical Nurse Supervisor (CNS) is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, supervising, coordinating and evaluating the facility’s clinical services. The CNS develops the clinical policies and procedures with input from staff and ensures that staff is appropriately trained, supervised and follows facility procedures.  The CNS is responsible for maintaining excellent quality in facility services and for assuring that services meet all applicable state requirements.  The CNS may also be engaged in direct client care.

 

 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accreditedschool of nursing.  Must be registered and licensed with the State of Minnesota as a RN, and must maintain current unencumbered license with the Board of Nursing.
  • At least 3 year(s) experience in elder care and/or general nursing practice.
  • 3 years supervisory and management experience is preferred. Position manages 8-12 staff.
  • Working knowledge of the state requirements for the Assisted Living licensees, federal and state reimbursement programs used by our residents.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to incorporate up-to-date evidence-based research into our procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to monitor the department budget.
  • Ability to implement quality management and quality improvement process and to gather, track and analyze data related to resident outcomes and other key measures.
  • Flexibility in dealing with changing situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to deal tactfully and use good communication and customer service skills with staff, residents/representatives, regulators, and the public.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use spreadsheet applications and electronic records.
  • Other responsibilities as they apply and align with comprehensive job description.
  • On-call rotation with nursing home
  • Weekends PRN

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must receive a “not disqualified” criminal background result from Department of Human Services and may not be on the OIG exclusions list.
