    JOB TITLE: Clinical Nursing Supervisor

    SUPERVISOR: Director of Nursing

    HOURS PER WEEK: 40hrs/Exempt (Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm)

    DEPARTMENT: Nursing Services

    HIRING BONUS: $1,000 after 90 days

    PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Clinical Nurse Supervisor plays a key leadership role in supporting high-quality, patient-centered care through both direct clinical involvement and administrative oversight. While this position includes designated administrative time to manage staffing and operational responsibilities, it is essential that the Supervisor remains visible and accessible to their team. Regularly scheduled time to participate in patient care or clinical workflows is a core expectation of the role, ensuring the Supervisor maintains a current understanding of daily challenges, evolving workflows, and team dynamics. This balance of clinical presence and administrative leadership is critical to fostering a responsive, efficient, and collaborative care environment.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

    1. Oversee daily clinical operations of back-office clinical staff including Registered Nurses, Medical Assistants, EMTs, CNAs, and Administrative Nursing Support, in collaboration with the Branch Manager. *

    2. Provide strong clinical judgment and nursing expertise to support patient care delivery. *

    3. Maintain a working knowledge of all departments within the assigned branch to effectively assist with daily workflows, staffing coverage, training and cross departmental support. *

    4. Conduct routine rounding throughout the clinic to monitor care quality, staff performance, and workflow efficiency. *

    5. Maintain a clear line of communication with clinical staff, providing timely guidance, clinical oversight, and daily support. *

    6. Perform patient assessments, prepare patients for exams and procedures, assist providers as needed during exams or treatments. *

    7. Triage phone calls and walk-in patient, as needed; assess needs and coordinate appropriate care, documentation, and follow-up. *

    8. Administer and document medications as ordered by providers. Maintain compliance with controlled substance policies and clinic protocols. *

    9. Perform staff nurse responsibilities as needed. *

    10. Ensure staff compliance with clinical policies, procedures, safety protocols, HIPAA, and OSHA standards. *

    11. Participate in emergency response activities (e.g., Code Team) and maintain current CPR certification. *

    12. Ensure appropriate use of personal protective equipment, clean and safe work environments, and adherence to bloodborne pathogen prevention policies. *

    13. Lead or support daily team huddles. *

    14. Oversee vaccine management processes, including lot manager, ordering, temperature excursions, and adequate supply levels. *

    15. Ensure timely ordering of clinical supplies and routine calibration of medical equipment. *

    16. Travel between clinic locations as required to support staffing and operational needs. *

    17. Monitor the sick call line and make real-time staffing adjustments to maintain safe patient coverage. *

    18. Review and approve employee timecards and coordinate staffing schedules and coverage for vacations, sick calls, lunches, and breaks. *

    19. Collaborate with Human Resources to interview, hire, onboard, and orient new employees. *

    20. Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and performance management, including conducting annual evaluations. *

    21. Ensure proper onboarding, training, and competency validation of clinical staff. *

    22. Maintain regular communication with the Director of Nursing and Branch Manager to identify and resolve operational issues. *

    23. Meet routinely with the Branch Manager to discuss escalated concerns and support problem resolution. *

    24. Co-chair branch and departmental meetings with the Branch Manager and maintain documentation of meeting minutes as needed. *

    25. Facilitate or support nursing and clinical meetings, including content development and staff engagement. *

    26. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support clinic-wide efforts to improve safety, efficiency, and patient outcomes. *

    27. Ensure compliance with documentation standards and accurate use of the electronic health record (EHR). *

    28. Promote and maintain a culture of patient-centered care, teamwork, accountability, and clinical excellence. *

    29. Address and help resolve employee, provider, and patient concerns, escalating issues to the Branch Manager or Compliance Officer when appropriate. *

    30. Maintain regular, in-person work attendance and punctuality as scheduled. *

    31. Perform other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    RN graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

    Valid Oregon Nursing License

    Current CPR certification

    Three years of clinical healthcare experience

    Electronic Health Record Experience

    PREFERENCES:

    Previous leadership experience

    3+ years in an ambulatory clinic setting

    EPIC experience
