    About This Role

Kansas State University — College of Veterinary Medicine Department of Clinical Sciences and the Veterinary Health Center

Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure- or clinical-track faculty position in Veterinary Anesthesia at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank (rank commensurate with experience and goals). This position fits candidates seeking scholarly careers, clinically intensive careers, or both, and the Department is motivated to tailor the role accordingly.

Applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent and have residency training in veterinary anesthesia; non-boarded applicants receive eight weeks for ACVAA exam preparation.

Opportunities exist for collaboration across perioperative, critical care, surgical, and other specialty services. Contributions to quality improvement, patient safety, and institutional service are expected in proportion to appointment.

Start date is negotiable. Review of applications begins immediately and continues three weeks after opening.

    About Us

The successful candidate will join a collaborative anesthesia service with three ACVAA diplomates, one board-eligible anesthesiologist, 2–3 residents, and six anesthesia nurses. In 2025, the Veterinary Health Center completed a full renovation of its perioperative complex. This ~9,000-sq-ft surgical space includes modern ORs, induction, and recovery suites; robust equipment staging; a centralized nurses’ station; new anesthesia workstations; dedicated ultrasound for locoregional and vascular access; and portable bronchoscopy for difficult airways and specialized cardiothoracic cases. The hospital is actively modernizing clinical infrastructure to support advanced care, immersive teaching, and high-reliability perioperative systems.
