Position Summary

The Clinical Pharmacist Faculty - MedAc is responsible for both the education of residents and the delivery of high-quality patient care. As an educator, this pharmacist must be a model of professionalism and an excellent mentor to residents. This pharmacist must be a master adaptive learner and must model this in their practice. The Clinical Pharmacist Faculty is a member of the residency program's faculty. Their time will be split between teaching/evaluation, curricular work, scholarly activity, and providing direct patient care

Responsibilities:

  • Trains and mentors residents and students, including pharmacy learners as applicable
  • Participates in the regular evaluation of residents and students
  • Works with other faculty to develop program curriculum
  • Works collaboratively with team members to create a culture of excellence, professionalism, and scholarly focus
  • Participates in the recruitment of new residents
  • Engages in individual and team scholarly activities
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, equitable, high-quality, cost-effective, evidence-based, patient-centered care
  • Ensures appropriate care for patients referred to pharmacist for disease state management and education
  • Completes timely and accurate documentation, inclusive of direct patient encounters and asynchronous care
  • Participates in system or clinic specific efforts on quality improvement


Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree, (required)
  • Licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of Washington
  • Board-certified in applicable area, or pass exam within 1 year of employment
  • Completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency (required)
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree, (required)
  • Licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of Washington
  • Board-certified in applicable area, or pass exam within 1 year of employment
  • Completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency (required)
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Founded in 1896, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving the greater Spokane region. Deaconess is home to a Level III Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine program and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
