Clinical Pharmacist - Home Infusion

Position Overview

The Clinical Pharmacist manages patient care within a home‑infusion environment by processing orders, reviewing drug interactions, completing clinical assessments, coordinating with prescribers, and performing final product checks for quality control. The pharmacist will work closely with a small, collaborative team consisting of another pharmacist, two pharmacy technicians, and the general manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Order Review - Review medication orders, assess drug interactions, and ensure clinical appropriateness.
  • Provider Communication - Contact prescribers for order clarification, updates, and ongoing patient needs.
  • Patient & Office Coordination - Communicate with MD offices and patients regarding continuation of service, discharge, or changes in therapy.
  • Clinical Assessments - Complete patient assessments to support ongoing clinical management.
  • Order Processing - Process orders and delivery tickets for ongoing service requirements.
  • Final Product Check - Verify all prepared products to ensure accuracy and alignment with prescriber orders.

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Clinical Judgment - Strong critical‑thinking skills and the ability to manage patient care efficiently and effectively.
  • Pharmacy Expertise - Solid foundation in pharmacy practice, particularly in clinical review and patient management.
  • Tech Proficiency - Comfortable working across multiple digital platforms and operating systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently after training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Home Infusion Experience - Background in infusion or home‑care pharmacy.
  • Experience with the CPR operating system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.

Licensing Requirements

  • Active New Jersey Board of Pharmacy (NJ BOP) Pharmacist License in good standing.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Montville, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
