At Novant Health, you'll work alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based medication management in a supportive, community hospital environment. This role offers broad clinical exposure across the lifespan—from pediatrics to geriatrics—making it an excellent opportunity to expand your skills while delivering remarkable patient experiences.

 

 

You'll join a close-knit team of 10 clinical pharmacists in a 140-bed community hospital, where pharmacists have the opportunity to care for diverse patient populations while continually expanding their clinical expertise. 

 

Schedule

  • Rotating 8-hour shifts: 
    • 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
    • 1:30 PM – 9:30 PM
  • Occasional third-shift coverage may be needed to support staffing needs, with volunteer opportunities offered whenever possible.
What We're Looking For:
  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certification.
    • PharmD, preferred.
  • Experience: Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy, preferred. 

 

  • Licensure/Certification: Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity, required. 
    • Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification, required.
  • Additional Skills (required): Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.
What You'll Do:
  • Serve as a clinical pharmacy leader, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and medication safety.
  • Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services, including medication review, therapy monitoring, patient assessment, order verification, and patient education.
  • Promote safe, evidence-based medication use while ensuring compliance with formulary, regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
  • Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives, medication use evaluations, process improvement projects, and cost-savings strategies.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical protocols, order sets, policies, and drug shortage management plans.
  • Educate, mentor, and precept pharmacists, residents, students, and other healthcare professionals while supporting onboarding and competency development.
  • Supervise pharmacy workflow, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of pharmacy services.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment through effective communication, leadership, and professional development.
  • Participate in pharmacy committees, interdisciplinary meetings, and organizational initiatives as assigned.
  • For Clinical Pharmacist Practitioners (CPPs): Provide direct patient care and medication therapy management within the approved scope of practice and maintain all required licensure, credentialing, and competency requirements.
