- Compounding Oversight: Maintain rigorous regulatory and quality control standards for sterile and non-sterile compounding areas, ensuring full alignment with USP guidelines and institutional safety protocols
- Medication Safety Leadership: Serve as chair of the Medication Safety Committee, identifying risk reduction strategies, analyzing error data, and leading continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Technician Supervision & Development: Lead, mentor, and empower the dedicated pharmacy technician team; foster an engaging, collaborative culture focused on professional growth, high performance, and operational agility
- Resource Management & Operational Flow: Oversee day-to-day medication distribution, inventory management, and workflow efficiencies to ensure seamless support for nursing and medical staff
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution required
- Residency: Completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency required
- Licensure: Current pharmacist licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in Utah required
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of recent hospital pharmacy experience with progressive leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Skills: Demonstrated expertise in sterile compounding regulations and medication safety practices; exceptional communication, problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of leading teams through operational change
