Job Title: Clinical Pharmacy Resident

Job Type: Full-time (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate or candidate for graduation from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy, or holder of FPGEC certification, with eligibility for pharmacist licensure in the State of Arkansas. Able to obtain Arkansas pharmacist licensure within required residency timelines and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or secure certification within three months of hire.

The Clinical Pharmacy Resident participates in a 12-month ASHP-accredited residency program designed to develop competency in community-based and ambulatory care pharmacy practice. The resident provides patient-centered pharmacy services, participates in interdisciplinary care, completes quality improvement and research activities, and contributes to education, leadership, and practice advancement initiatives across Arcare pharmacy and clinic sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient-centered pharmacy services including chronic disease management, medication therapy management, immunizations, medication reconciliation, transitions of care, and patient counseling.
  • Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize medication-related outcomes.
  • Perform medication dispensing, verification, and drug utilization review activities consistent with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Document patient care activities appropriately within the electronic health record. Assist team members with day-to-day tasks and coordination of projects and events as requested.
  • Participate in pharmacy operations, quality improvement initiatives, and service development activities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, leadership, and effective time management.
  • Participate in organizational committees, meetings, and professional development activities as assigned.
  • Complete residency research or practice improvement project and present findings orally and in writing.
  • Provide education to patients, students, healthcare professionals, and community members.
  • Assist with precepting pharmacy students and other learners when appropriate.
  • Contribute to the implementation or enhancement of pharmacy services and clinical programs.
  • Maintain compliance with ASHP residency standards, ARcare policies, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain required licensure, certifications, training, and competency requirements.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, attendance, and effective communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
