Clinical Polysomnographic Technician

Job Summary

Join our team in Binghamton, NY, where you will perform and efficiently manage polysomnographic diagnostic testing. This role requires a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and sleep/wake pathology. Excellent communication skills are essential for patient education, safety, and comfort, as well as liaising with physicians. Attention to detail is crucial, as the quality of data from the polysomnogram is the technologist's responsibility. The ability to maintain vigilance in a non-stimulating environment and react calmly in emergencies is necessary. Adherence to patient confidentiality guidelines is mandatory.

Job Responsibilities

• Review patient information and verify study orders.
• Explain testing protocols to patients/caregivers and answer questions.
• Set up and perform studies per policy/AASM guidelines.
• Monitor patients for clinical events and obtain required data.
• Perform Titration and Split night studies as per policy/physician orders.
• Wake patients when data is sufficient, remove electrodes, and assist with hygiene.
• Score studies per AASM guidelines and complete scoring timely.
• Notify medical staff of adverse patient conditions or unusual situations.
• Assist in training new personnel and perform other assigned duties.

Preferred experience in Sleep Medicine. Schedule: Nights; 40hrs/week.
