Qualifications and Experience:
- Clinical Nursing background required, with significant experience in emergency medicine
- Prior experience as an Emergency Department Manager within a large hospital or health system
- Demonstrated success leading operations or initiatives across multiple sites, regions, or markets
- Strong experience in designing and implementing scalable operational solutions
- Proven track record managing complex, multidisciplinary projects in a healthcare environment

- Job Description Overview:
The Emergency Medicine (EM) of Clinical Programs Manager is a key leadership role responsible for advancing operational performance, clinical effectiveness, and strategic initiatives across Emergency Departments (EDs) within the organization. This role combines clinical expertise with operational and analytical acumen to enhance throughput, performance metrics, patient experience, and quality outcomes at scale.
This individual partners with clinical and operational leadership to improve ED throughput, optimize performance metrics, and drive consistent, high-quality care delivery across a geographically diverse footprint. The role requires a strong clinical Emergency Medicine background, deep operational experience, and a strong understanding of throughput metrics, patient flow, project management and performance improvement methodologies. In addition, be able to demonstrate success leading complex, multidisciplinary initiatives at scale.

Work Environment

Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee ED operational performance across multiple groups, identifying trends and opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and quality outcomes at scale.
- Collaborate closely with group leadership, Vice Presidents of Operations, Regional Medical Directors, System Medical Directors, and Facility Medical Directors to improve department metrics and identify opportunities for growth expansion and innovation.
- Facilitate communication and alignment across a broad set of stakeholders with varying priorities and backgrounds.
- Partner with Performance Improvement Consultants (PIC) and Regional Performance Directors to implement and disseminate best practices across the enterprise.
- Lead large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives involving clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders.
- Lead the development and execution of national Emergency Medicine strategic initiatives, with a focus on ED throughput optimization and ensure measurable, sustained improvements.
- Lead special projects aligned with Emergency Medicine service line priorities.
- Establish structured project plans, governance models, and performance tracking mechanisms to ensure successful execution and scalability of projects.
- Review and conduct deep-dive analyses of quarterly performance metrics, to identify root causes and translate data into actionable insights and plans to address identified opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze performance data, including throughput, quality, and patient experience metrics across all regions.
- Identify high-performing and underperforming sites and collaborate with operational and clinical leadership to implement targeted improvement strategies.
