Job Description:

Licensed Clinical Psychologist to facilitate breast cancer patient support groups in person and virtually. The psychologist works as part of a multidisciplinary team directly addressing documented, unmet patient needs. Provider to support our NEST (Navigated, Embedded, Supportive services via Telehealth) to improve access to supportive oncology services (palliative care, psychosocial oncology, integrative oncology) through telehealth in our rural communities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Facilitating breast cancer support groups providing education and support to patients during or post-treatment for cancer, both in person and via telehealth.
• Providing ongoing assessment of support group participants' needs.
• Making appropriate referrals if needs are identified and support group participants are in agreement.
• Maintaining confidentiality of support group participants at all times.
• Maintaining documentation of support group participation as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Highly skilled and demonstrated ability in assessment and treatment planning.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly skilled and demonstrated ability in facilitating support groups.
• Knowledge, comfort, and ability in building rapport and serving clients from a multi-cultural perspective to include race, religion, gender, sexual preference, and a wide range of socio-economic classes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and comfort with outpatient medical environments, and knowledge of current oncology treatments, common medical and psychiatric medications, and common questions and concerns that arise for oncology patients both during and post-treatment.
• Solid understanding of HIPAA and ethics in practice, and ability to apply both in complex circumstances.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Doctoral degree from an APA-accredited psychology training program and completion of an APA-accredited internship and/or fellowship, preferably in health psychology or psycho-oncology
• 5 + years of direct experience with Breast Cancer/Oncology patient population.
• Fully licensed as a psychologist in the state of Tennessee.
